Little Man

So, I really just can't get enough of watching Parker swinging his toys all over the place with his little hands gripping them for dear life. He loves to kick his legs at the same time, especially against either Tim or I. He has a pretty strong kick at times too!

Video of Parker

Here is the video of Parker I took today. I had to take away the rattle in his hand because he was wacking himself pretty hard at times in the head with the rattle. So hard, there were red spots on his forehead. I didn't want people to think we are abusing him. ;)

Loving his toys!

Parker is still loving to play with his toys. It is so neat to watch him. His favorites are the little ring things, but he is slowly starting to like his rattles too. I am trying to get another video I took of him up here. His latest thing with the rings is to try to eat them when I have him on tummy time. Playing also seems to be wearing him out. He didn't care that I was talking to him and just decided to conk out, so of course I had to snap a picture.

Hawaiian Boys

Parker went to his first birthday party on Saturday for Ainsley and Hayden. Their party was Hawaiian themed, so we dressed Parker up in his little Hawaiian outfit my cousins Jake and Nicki got for him. Tim also liked the excuse to break out one of his Hawaiian shirts he had stashed away from his time stationed over in Hawaii.

Crazy Legs!

Parker is really starting to like his toys all of a sudden. I love that when he flails his arms, his legs also go crazy kicking around. I filmed him a little bit on Saturday and got a good laugh over the fact that he kept hitting himself in the head with his rattle. You can actually hear it smacking him in this video, yet he seems completely unfazed by it.

Rattle Time!

As you all have been noticing, I have been on the ball blogging this week. Parker is starting to get his napping routine down, which means I have some time to get a few things done in the afternoons. Woohoo! Today Parker had another first. He held his rattle for the first time and was rattling it around. I highly doubt he really knew what the heck he was doing, but it was cute. I managed to video a little with our camera and upload it on here. For some reason, I wasn't able to get him to coo this time, so hopefully our next video will have some cooing in it. Enjoy!

Little man!

I finally found little jean shorts I liked for Parker, so he could wear his little shirt Tim bought him. Isn't he to freaking adorable??? I love how he looks like a little man in this outfit. Too bad he spit up on it shortly after I took these pictures. :)

11 weeks

Parker is now eleven weeks as of yesterday. Where has the time gone???? He is getting huge, and very heavy. My arms are getting tired quicker than they used to, even though they are stronger. He has now started to slobber like a fool. I keep checking to see if he is starting to teeth, but no signs as of yet, which is good. (For those of you who don't know, the longer it takes to get a tooth, the stronger they usually are.) He is starting to realize that he has to nap in his crib instead of on me, also good. :) The smiles are continuing to flow like crazy, and Tim and I are trying to get them out of him any chance we can get.

Yesterday, Parker and I experienced Skype together for the first time. My mom has been bugging me to get it on our computer, so I finally did. I called her, then we each connected and were able to talk to each other and see each other online. It was way neat. I think my favorite part of it was seeing the look on my mom's face when she saw Parker. It takes a lot to really melt my mom down, but just one look at Parker and she melted. I loved it! She is such a sucker for him, but I guess I am the pot calling the kettle black on that one because I am a complete sucker for him too! For any of you who have Skype, my user name is jami.johnston and I would love to chat with you all and show off my little boy as well. :)

I was playing with Parker today doing tummy time, and he just decided he was done with it and went to sleep on me.

Growing...

Parker continues to grow like crazy. We are having fun watching him discover new things each day. I have finally been able to get him to take his naps in his crib this week. Woohoo!!! He has been a great bed time sleeper, but napping is something we are working on. He has really been into sticking his tongue out this week, and is liking tummy time more.
This was taken this morning. He is so much fun in the mornings because he is usually super smiley and loves to talk and jump around on our laps.
Parker has an old man stretch he must do every morning as soon as we open the swaddle. We decided to take a picture this morning, but it doesn't do the stretch routine justice. He gets his whole back arched and really tosses his head back and throws those little arms up. It is hilarious!
Zonked out after a ride home up the street in his stroller last night.
Smiling away!

More smiles!

Parker has been full of smiles all weekend. We luckily were able to catch a few more on the camera today. He also loves his bath time. Tim snapped a picture of Parker taking his bath today. It is amazing to me how a little kid can scream so hard having his head washed at the sink, but loves his bath so much.

Chubby Baby

Parker is nine weeks old today and had his two month well baby visit at the pediatrician today. The little guy is a beast! He weighed in at 13 pounds 6 ounces, which puts him in the 85th percentile for weight and was 22 and 3/4 inches long, which puts him in the 42nd percentile for height. Dr. Shuie said he is perfect and healthy. :) Poor little guy was due for four vaccinations today. One was given orally and the other three were shots. They had me hold his little hands for the shots and the poor little kid just didn't know what hit him. I got the look from him of "Mommy, what are you letting them do to me?????" He has been fussy since then, and I can tell obviously doesn't feel well. We are sticking to the exact time for his baby tylenol to hopefully help him out a little. Poor little guy! Above is a picture I took of him today with his band-aids from his battle wounds.
My friend Erianne gave me this onesie for Parker when I was home in February and it was actually pretty cool here on Sunday, so he wore it. Isn't it just great?!?!

Parker's first 4th of July

Parker experienced his first fourth of July today and had a great day. The day started and has ended in a rainy mess here in Missouri, and was a little chilly as well, so I was able to put jeans on him for the first time. The little chubster fills them out in the belly, but his little legs are too short for them, so I had to roll up the legs. He looked adorable though. :) We had a bunch of our neighbors over for a bbq and lit off a few fireworks before Parker had to go to bed. He surprisingly didn't flinch at all during any noisy ones, and seemed in awe of the different colors that would flash around, but then again, he does have a fascination with lights, so that didn't surprise me. He is now soundly sleeping away unfazed by any of the racket going on outside his window. It is like a war zone here with all the fireworks going off!
We finally caught him smiling with the camera! He has been smiling for almost three weeks now, but is very stingy with them. He was not only generous with the smiles today, but Tim and I both were fast enough at different times to get them captured. Isn't he just the cutest little thing you ever saw???
